Bishop Martin said "Please remember the people who lost their lives including PC Keith Palmer. For all those critically ill and injured, still in hospital. For the thousands who saw the events unfold from their office windows or as they emerged, unwittingly, from the Tube station.
He added: "It is also important that we pray for all our local MP's in Sussex and their colleagues in Westminster - and their support staff - for their work in strengthening our traditions of democracy, respect and human freedom which will endure thanks to the bravery of those who dealt with this situation in our capital city."
Dr Warner was just leaving Westminster as events began to take place and the seriousness of what was to unfold only emerged as he arrived back in Sussex.
